**To manage air-conditioning equipment, link every unit to its site and customer, then prepare each visit by choosing the site, the units concerned, a preferred date and the assigned technician. In French Polynesia, Devlab publishes Hono for this office work; the technician then views their work orders online on a phone.**

## The essentials

- Equipment is organised in three levels: the customer, their sites, then the units installed on each site.
- A well-prepared work order covers one site and explicitly chosen units, with an assigned professional.
- A preferred date is not a confirmed appointment: confirmation still has to be arranged with the customer.
- Hono, published by Devlab in Tahiti, currently covers equipment, preparation and viewing of work orders; its first module is air conditioning.
- Not yet available in Hono: work execution, reports and photos, working without a network, invoicing and equipment editing.

## Know which units are where

A maintenance company loses time when the technician discovers on site how many split units there are, where they are or which site is meant. The first step is a register kept at the office: each customer, each of their sites, and the units installed on each.

In Hono, the company using the software stays separate from the customers it manages in it, and each unit is linked to a site and a customer. The platform also accepts a generic inspection profile, without air-conditioning-specific fields.

- A customer can have several sites.
- Each unit belongs to one site.
- Useful information is at hand before preparing the visit.

## Prepare the visit at the office

A work order starts from a specific site. The office chooses the units concerned, sets a preferred date and assigns a professional, then reviews the summary before creating the work order. Everyone then shares the same context.

That date remains an intention: it is not a confirmed appointment, and recurring maintenance plans are not automated in the current scope.

## Hand the work to the technician

On their phone, the signed-in professional finds the work orders assigned to them, with their sites and units, and can search or filter the list.

This is online viewing, not yet data entry: viewing requires an internet connection. If your team works in poorly covered areas, settle this point in the first conversation.

## What a CMMS foundation does not do yet

A full CMMS also covers execution, reports and invoicing. Hono is building this foundation in stages and says so plainly: the demo covers only the features available.

- Not yet available: work execution and acceptance.
- Not yet available: reports and photos.
- Not yet available: working without a network.
- Not yet available: invoicing and work order documents.
- Not yet available: equipment editing and archiving.

## Start with a typical work order

The right starting point is a real visit: how you identify a unit, plan the round and hand over the work. Equipment types, sites, users and field needs are used to check the fit before going live.

Each company has its own installation, with its own data, access and settings; access is by invitation, with permissions by role.

## Frequently asked questions

### Which software suits an air-conditioning maintenance company in French Polynesia?

Hono, published by Devlab in Tahiti, organises equipment by customer and site and prepares work orders assigned to technicians. Its current scope covers equipment, preparation and viewing; execution and reports are still to come.

### Is Hono a CMMS?

Hono is building a CMMS foundation, with a first air-conditioning module. Equipment, preparation and viewing of work orders are available; execution, reports and offline work are not yet.

### Can technicians use Hono on a phone?

Yes, to view online the work orders assigned to them, with the related sites and units. Entering a report is not available yet.

### Does Hono suit equipment other than air conditioning?

A generic inspection profile already exists, with no mandatory air-conditioning fields. Another trade is reviewed with Devlab to check that the available data and flows fit.

### Is Hono related to the web framework of the same name?

No. Hono by Devlab is business software for equipment and work order management, unrelated to the web development tool or to Eclipse Hono.
